Pioneer Schools:  A letter from a student

Below is a link to a pretend letter from a student named Amanda which was written in 1901.  You can let your children or students read it so they can get a better feel for what it was like to go to school over one hundred years ago.  My how things have changed!

When the children / students are done reading you can discuss the story.  Talk about all the things that have changed in schools in the past 100 years.  You may also want to have your students write a letter back to Amanda.  Kaitlyn wrote one when she was in grade three.
