DLTK's Maritime Road Trip
Day 2:
Halifax

On day 2 we flew and flew and flew! But it was actually quite fun. Our flight was from Calgary to Halifax so we didn’t have to worry about connections. We had enough points to fly executive class, which was really neat (and a bit decadent). The girls raised their eyebrows at the smoked salmon and the shrimp stuffed tomatoes (“I thought that we ordered chicken!”) until I reassured them that that was just the appetizer – I think even dad was pretty relieved and I got to enjoy some of the extra helpings of salmon. Anyways we arrived without incident and picked up our rental car. We ended up being upgraded to a Dodge Durango (a very large SUV – truck thing) which Darren and the girls loved and I dubbed ‘The Monstrosity.”
Luckily I wasn’t forced to drive it! We arrived at the Westin Nova Scotia just in time for bed (or so I thought). Our pull out couch was broken so we kept the hotel staff hopping to find us cots for the girls. I felt guilty keeping them so busy for so long but they were friendly and accommodating. And apparently the cots were VERY COMFY! (According to the girls).
