Day 21:  Keltic Lodge to Sydney

We popped out of bed and waved goodbye to the Keltic Lodge.  It was the first time in awhile that we hadn’t been the least bit sad to bid farewell to the place we’d stayed - Stonehame spoiled us I think.

We left the national park and set off for Sydney, Nova Scotia.  Along the way we stopped at Big Bras D’Or to enjoy the Bird Islands Puffin Tour. Captain Joe was a very captain looking fellow and his grandsons helped him give the tour.

We saw oodles of seagulls and cormorants.  We also giggled at the grey seagulls that kept poking their heads out of the water to peak at us.  After a lot of searching we spotted the puffins and enjoyed watching them catch fish and fly around

Captain Joe had great stories about the area and the wildlife we were seeing… it was almost enough to keep mommy from feeling seasick *grin*.  In all seriousness though, the 2½ hour tour was wonderful and an amazing value for the price.

We thought the fun was over for the day, but when we arrived in Sydney we discovered that we were there for the last night of ‘Rock the Dock’.  We were able to enjoy the concert from our hotel room - we could see and hear everything.  But dad had to take the girls downstairs to catch the fireworks because we couldn’t see those.
