The bald eagle is the national bird of the United States.
Bald eagles have a unique way of saying hello:When two bald eagles meet, they have a special way of greeting each other. They'll lock their talons together in mid-air and then tumble towards the ground before breaking apart. This is called a "cartwheel display" and it's a way for bald eagles to show off their strength and agility. |

Bald eagles are powerful fliers:Bald eagles are very strong and can fly up to 30 miles per hour (48 kilometers per hour)! They can also soar to great heights and stay in the air for hours without flapping their wings. |

Bald eagles build huge nests:Bald eagles build some of the largest nests of any bird species in North America. Their nests can be up to 13 feet (4 meters) deep and 8 feet (2.4 meters) wide! Bald eagles often return to the same nest year after year and add more sticks and branches to it, making it even bigger and more impressive over time. |
