DLTK's Crafts for Kids
(you can't escape) Harry Houdini's birthday!
POSTED ON MARCH 23, 2023 BY LEANNE
Hear ye, hear ye! March 24th marks the birthday of the one and only Harry Houdini, the master of illusion and the greatest escape artist of all time! If you're looking for a fun and educational way to celebrate this magical day with the little ones, we've got some ideas that will make them feel like they're part of Houdini's world.
First up, let's get our magic wands out and try some magic tricks of our own! It's a great way to inspire children's creativity and imagination, and maybe even discover some hidden talents! My favourite is the "walk through a piece of paper" trick -- my oldest daughter Tasha fooled me with that one and won herself a trip to Dairy Queen. Lol.
But we can't just stop at crafts, we need some magic! Let's watch a Houdini documentary or movie that tells the story of Houdini's life and career, and how he amazed audiences with his daring stunts and illusions. Younger children might enjoy watching an animated version of Houdini's story, while older kids can learn more about Houdini's life and career through a documentary.
And last but not least, let's get crafty! With DLTK's Crafts for Kids, you can create your own Houdini-inspired crafts, like a printable mask or a no-sew cape that will have the kids feeling like they're Houdini himself, escaping from impossible situations.
So, there you have it, folks! With these whimsical and fun ideas, you can celebrate Harry Houdini's birthday in style and inspire the next generation of magicians and escape artists. Happy birthday, Houdini, and may your magic live on forever!

About Leanne:
Wife, mom and the woman behind the scenes of the DLTK's Crafts for Kids websites. The websites are a terrific hobby -- run by (me) Leanne, a mom with two girls as my official craft testers and my husband as my technical support. DLTK are the first initials of each of the people in my family (I'm the L!). Whenever we send out little cards or whatnot, we sign 'love DLTK' ... when I started the website I used the initials. Had I known the website would get actual strangers visiting it, I would have picked a less mysterious name but we're all stuck with it now!
