The Story of Enzoology™ – a science show created by a seven year old kid.
Enzo is like any other seven year old boy. He loves video games, Spongebob and armpit-simulated flatulence, much like any other second grader.
Except his web site gets about two thousands hits a week, he has his own
YouTube show, appears on national television, gets recognized in public and knows more about bugs, animals and prehistoric what-not than you or me.
It all started when Enzo learned that practically anyone can make a video and post it on the
internet. Upon this realization, he soon approached his dad with the idea for a science show that he would host.
He would feature insects and other critters he caught in his backyard and it would be fun and silly.
He even had a name for this show: Enzoology. |

A couple days later, Enzo caught a praying mantis and he and dad went off into the woods to tape what would become the first episode of the show.
To his dad’s amazement, Enzo proceeded to talk for thirty minutes about his catch.
Dad edited the video to three minutes and uploaded to YouTube. Thinking he was clever, he included the then-fictitious URL
http://www.enzoology.com and promptly forgot about the whole thing.
Within four hours, Enzoology fans had sent about fifteen e-mail messages asking where this site was located.
By the end of the day, forty more people inquired about the then non-existent site.
Working quickly, dad secured the URL and built the Enzoology web site.
Once the site was finished, life went on as usual for Enzo. On a day trip to SeaWorld, about a week later, a mother of three young girls was whispering and pointing at Enzo – making Enzo’s mom and dad a bit uncomfortable.
The mother of the girls politely approached Enzo’s mother and asked, “Is your son’s name Enzo?”
Upon confirmation of this, this rather excitable family mentioned that they had seen Enzoology and absolutely loved it.
Enzo and his parents were taken off guard and thanked the family while wondering if that really just happened.
Upon returning home, Enzo looked up his video and learned that several thousand people had viewed his show.
It was then we knew that something special was happening.
A week later we received a call from Ellen DeGeneres. Before we knew it, we were flying to Hollywood to tape an episode of the her popular show.
Enzo appeared on the show with James Taylor.
Since we started making Enzoology, thousands of people have viewed
Enzoology.
We have received hundreds of emails and more come everyday. The universal reaction to Enzoology is overwhelmingly positive.
People love the authenticity of Enzo and his enthusiasm for the subject matter – whether he's talking about how tarantulas eat, what makes rockets fly or how caves form, Enzo delivers the facts in a way that kids ages 4-13 find entertaining and meaningful.
Enzo does the research for the show with help from his mom, The University of Texas and a number of sponsors including The Austin Zoo, Herpeton Exotic Pets, The Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge and Inner Space Caverns.
He is also a regular guest on the upcoming kid's talk show airing on PBS, “Comical Sense with Trevor Romain”.
Upcoming episodes include Reptiles and Amphibians, Vol. 1, Big Cat DNA, Rocketry and Living in Space (in association with the Johnson Space Center), Killer Arachnids and more.
Enzo is enjoying his new found fame and can’t wait to finish shooting so he can ride his bike.
