Rating:   4 stars out of 5

Kaitlyn's Review:

I really enjoyed the way they captured the true essence of pirating by making it a race to get to the fountain of youth. Every ship wants the same treasure and the only way they will get it is by beating each other to the finish line.  I recommend that you watch this movie because it is quite captivating and really represent what Pirates of the Caribbean is all about. Even without Elizabeth Swan and Will Turner, the movie still includes characters from past movies, which I thought was very cool.

I rate this movie 4 out of 5 stars because it really incorporated the struggle pirates have when they are trying to outwit the government.

Questions Kaitlyn Answered Before Watching the Movie:

Is this a movie you are excited to see?

Yes.  I am very excited to watch it because I have really enjoyed the Pirates of the Caribbean series so far and I think that this one will be excellent just like the other ones.

Would you prefer to see it:

  • in the theatre with your family,
  • in the theatre with your friends
  • on DvD?

Questions Kaitlyn Answered After Watching the Movie:

Was the movie as good as you thought it would be?

I really enjoyed this movie.  It was just as good as I had thought it would be! I really enjoyed the way that they captured the true essence of Captain Jack; I also liked that Black Beard and Jack were working together.  However, it was rather unfortunate that Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan were not in this movie.

Would you talk with your friends about it?

Yes I would.  I really liked talking to my friends about the mermaids because that scene was very interesting. My friends and I had a large discussion about who were the bad people in that scene.  I thought that the pirates were at fault because they were trying to capture a mermaid, but some of my friends thought that the mermaids shouldn’t have been so vicious with the pirates.

Did you learn anything from it?

I learned that sometimes if you judge a race of people, for example the mermaids, then you never really get to know one person individually. The pirates thought that all of the mermaids were bad but after the Christian boy got to meet one mermaid he learned that as long as you are kind with them they will show a very loving side.  That is how he fell in love with the mermaid.
