DLTK's Crafts for Kids - Movie Review
Twilight
MPAA Rating: Rating: PG-13 (for some violence and a scene of sensuality)
A note from Leanne (mom): This is definitely a 'teen
movie'. I spent a fair amount of my time trying not to chuckle
as the girls oohed and ahhhed over cute boys and 'amazing' kisses.
I didn't enjoy the movie that much personally... I get enough of
attitude filled teenagers in my own home -- I don't need to watch them
on the big screen. But my husband and I did find it highly
entertaining to watch the kids watch the movie!

Tasha's Review:
If someone asked me to sum the movie Twilight up in just one word, I would simply tell them... AMAZING!
This movie was by far the best movie I have ever seen. I was already so hooked on the books: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, that when the movie finally came I was ecstatic. People everywhere around Canada and the US are still going on and on about how incredible the movie was, and I have to agree.
This movie is definitely a must see, and when it comes out on DVD I am buying it right away. The characters chosen for the movie weren't exactly what I had thought they would have looked like, but they wowed me with their great acting and their believable vampire lifestyles. Robert Pattison (who plays Edward) did a wonderful job acting as if he was in pain whenever he was around Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart). I loved the setting they used for the movie because unlike the actors chosen, it was exactly what I had imagined it. It took place in Forks, Washington, and the lush green landscape and the rainy climate brought the whole movie together.
Although this was a great movie, I think that the special effects that they used were kind of cheesy. Whenever the vampires ran with their super speed it just didn't look right, and whenever Edward went into the sun (and was supposed to be sparkling and glowing), he ended up looking as if he was sweating quite badly.
All in all I would give this movie a 4 out of 5 stars because I am pretty sure that I could watch this movie 100 times and never get sick of it but I wish they'd spent more money on their special effects. I highly recommend this movie for anyone, but I strongly advise that you read the books first because they will add something special to your viewing experience.
