Doing stimulating activities that incorporate novelty, variety and complexity are a great way to build that brain!  Picture crossword puzzles are a great way for children to learn the general idea of how a crossword works without the complicated clues.  They're also a unique way to practice spelling.

Kaitlyn (my youngest daughter) made the request that clue 4-Down work for FISH or KISS -- I had originally intended it to be KISS but was quickly informed that kissing is yucky and she would stick with FISH -- I think daddy hopes her opinion stays that way for many, many years *smile*.
