European Day of Languages (EDL)
September 26

In 2001 the Council of Europe proclaimed September 26 to be the European Day of Languages. The purpose of the day is to encourage langauge learning by all Europeans.

The goals of the European Day of Languages are to:

A variety of programs and activities are arranged across Europe for September 26th to promote these goals.

There are currently over 200 different languages in Europe. The most used languages in Europe in order of the number of native speakers are Russian, German, Turkish, English, French, Spanish, Polish, Ukranian and Romanian.

Our site is primarily English but we do have activites in French and Spanish as well. Use the links below to explore activites in another language.
