Here's a great finger paint recipe that you can make yourself that can be used on standard white paper, construction paper, or finger paint paper. This paint is 100% non-toxic, so you do not have to worry about the kids putting it in their mouth. If you want to use it as a regular paint, purchase foam applicators from a craft store. Store the paint in baby food jars for the best results, and the longest shelf life.
- 2 cups flour
- 4 cups cold water
- pinch of salt
- food coloring
Mix flour and water together and cook over low heat until thick.
Let cool completely.
Add a small pinch of salt (prolongs shelf life).
Separate the mixture into baby food jars.
Add 3-4 drops of food coloring in each jar and stir until the color is well blended.
