The Goose and the Golden Egg

One day a countryman went to gather the eggs that his goose had laid. One egg was yellow and glittering in the sun.

It was heavier than all the other eggs. He was going to throw it away, because he thought someone had played a trick on him.

But instead, he brought it home and discovered that it was an egg of pure gold.

Every morning, the same thing occurred. The countryman became rich, each day selling the eggs.

The richer he got, the greedier he got.

One day; impatient, tired of waiting day by day for one more egg, he decided to kill the goose. When he opened up the goose he didn't discover any gold at all.

Don't forget: it isn't good to be greedy!
