Vulture Crafts and Activities for Children
Vultures have a wingspan of up to 10 feet, which makes them one of the largest flying birds in the world. They use their large wings to soar high in the sky and glide for long distances without flapping their wings.
Vultures are birds of prey that eat carrion (dead animals). They have strong stomach acid that allows them to eat decaying meat without getting sick.
Vultures have bald heads and necks, which may seem strange. However, this adaptation helps them stay clean when feeding on dead animals, as they can dip their heads into carcasses without getting their feathers dirty.
Vultures are important to the ecosystem because they help prevent the spread of disease. By eating carrion, they can reduce the number of dead animals on the ground, which helps prevent the spread of diseases that could affect other animals or humans!

One last fun fact:
We all get hot sometimes, but vultures are known for their unique way of cooling themselves off. They often poop on their own legs, which cools them down as the moisture evaporates in the hot sun!
