Paper Plate Penguin Craft
Waddle into Fun with our Penguin Paper Plate Craft
Welcome, crafty friends! Today, we're taking an imaginary trip to the chilly Antarctic to meet one of the most charming creatures in the animal kingdom - the Penguin! With their unique tuxedo-like appearance, adorable waddling walk, and belly-sliding antics, penguins are endlessly fascinating to kids. And now, we're bringing the magic of these flightless birds to your craft table with our easy, fun-filled Penguin Paper Plate Craft.
So, bundle up, grab your craft supplies, and let's dive in!
Materials:
- 1 paper plate
- Black acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
- White construction paper
- Orange construction paper
- Black marker
- Scissors
- Glue
- Optional: You can substitute large wiggly eyes for construction paper eyes.
Instructions:
- Start by painting your paper plate with the black acrylic paint. This will be the base color of our penguin. Let the paint dry completely.
- While the paint is drying, cut out a belly shape from your white construction paper. It should look like a circle, an elongated oval or a teardrop shape.
- Once the black paint on the paper plate is dry, glue the white belly shape to the center of the plate.
- Cut two elongated teardrop shapes from black construction paper or scrapbooking paper and glue them to the edges of the plate as wings.
- Now, it's time to make our penguin's beak and feet. From the orange construction paper, cut out a small triangle for the beak and two larger, webbed shapes for the feet.
- Glue the beak to the top of the white belly shape and the feet to the bottom of the plate.
- For the eyes, cut out two circles from the white construction paper. Draw the eyeballs on them using a black marker, and then stick them onto your penguin above the beak. Alternatively, if you have googly eyes, you can use those for a fun, 3D effect.
And voila! Your adorable penguin paper plate craft is complete!
