DLTK's Crafts for Kids
Handprint
Earth Craft
This is fun and simple craft for kids to make, that can be used to represent
an Earth Day or Earth theme. The handprint adds an extra touch of personality to the craft and can be contributed by any age -- even babies!
The "heart shape" in the palm just happens naturally (most of the time) when you stamp your hand in paint and then onto paper. It's fun to see whose looks most like a heart!
Materials:
- blue construction paper,
- green paint and paint brush,
- scissors
Instructions:
- Cut a circle out of a piece of blue construction paper -- we made our circle by tracing a paper plate onto blue construction paper.
- Put a green handprint in the center of the blue construction paper circle by painting your hand green and pressing it onto the paper.
- Use the paintbrush to paint a few sections of green onto the blue construction paper circle, around the handprint.
