DLTK's Crafts for Kids
Mardi Gras Float

Thanks to Edina for sharing this idea with us!

About Mardi Gras: I am from New Orleans and living in New Jersey, so trying to bring a bit of New Orleans to my daughter's pre-K class.  Thank you so much for the work you have done.

Another craft which is something any child growing up in New Orleans does every year during elementary school is build our own float.  You use a shoe box.  Turn the box upside down to make the top of the float, and attach to box top vertically, on the short side of the box (this is the back, usually used for kings and queens.  Then decorate it in any way to represent any theme you wish (just like the real floats).  Thanks for the king cake game!
